I followed my heart to Normandy and found peace in the misty dawns and hazy afternoons that have become my French way of life. It is a different pace and a story which i try to capture in my work. Each day the light creates a fresh landscape, a misty morning, a golden sunrise, the rain driving across the Forêt de Perseigne, the storm clouds gathering, the long lazy sun filled days of summer, the winter snow. A never ending vista of beauty and colour. My pallet is simple 6 colours and water to capture the magical ancient landscapes and forests of Normandy.
My pallet is simple 6 colours and water.
All of the watercolours are painted directly onto paper without using pencil sketch lines. This I believe allows for much freer mark making and gives the images a greater confidence.
Over the years I have exhibited in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, the Discerning Eye, The Royal Watercolour Society, The Sunday Times Watercolour Competition and in various group shows.
